With continued pressure to do more with less, corporate treasurers are on the lookout for solutions that deliver better control, streamline reconciliation and ultimately drive efficiencies.  Virtual account management and payment factories are solutions being deployed by treasurers to drive this efficiency gain.  In this session, practitioners will discuss how these solutions have been deployed, the benefits and the things to watch for when driving this change.

Shrabani Bhattacharjee
CFO
Heidelberg Cement Group

Shrabani Bhattacharjee an experienced finance professional, performed various roles in diverse cultures and industries over 20 years. Prior to her relocation to Toronto, she was serving as Corporate Treasurer and CFO (Ready-mix Concrete & Aggregate operations) for HeidelbergCement Group operations in Indonesia. In addition to that role, she also led Group Share Service Centre (SSC) project focused on improving end to end processes and associated systems, controls, reporting and organisation. In collaboration with two major Global Banks, Shrabani introduced some fintech solutions for HeidelbergCement’s Indonesia Operation which achieved couple of international recognitions like Adam Smith Award, Marquee award as Asia’s best Treasury team. Prior to moving to Indonesia in 2012, Shrabani worked at a nonbanking Financial Institution in Bangladesh as Treasurer and COO of its capital market operation.

Shrabani earned her MBA in Finance from University of Lincoln, UK. She is also certified FRM from GARP and CTP from AFP, USA.


Mylene Losier
Treasury Specialist
IKEA Canada

Mylene is the Treasury Specialist for IKEA Canada. She has worked in IKEA’s finance department for 27 years, specifically in her current treasury role for 12 years. Mylene has been involved in many aspects of Finance, including Accounting, Payments and Banking. Mylene has implemented a new travel credit card for all IKEA Canada co-workers. In the past year Mylene has been working on a project with IKEA’s global treasury office implementing In House Bank and a new Payment Factory.

Paul McGuire
Senior Manager, Global Cash Management & Funding
Magna International

Paul McGuire is the Senior Manager, Global Cash Management & Funding of Magna International, a world leading automotive parts supplier.  His career has been focused on the automotive parts manufacturing space working with some of the world’s largest Tier 1 auto suppliers and OEMs. His roles have covered a diverse set of areas including treasury, risk, customer and supplier management, as well as pension and benefits management.  Most recently, he has been actively involved in the areas of global cash management, payment efficiency solutions and technology integration. 

Prior to joining Magna, he served as Treasury Manager of Martinrea International. In this capacity he managed global treasury operations, capital structure and financing strategies, creditor relationships, financial risk management, liquidity management, compliance with debt agreements and led treasury’s participation in business development activities.  In addition, he was a member of the company’s pension committee and a plan administrator on the North American defined benefit pension plans, post-retirement health plans, and employee savings plans and actively managing the global insurance programs including the company’s property and casualty program, U.S. workers compensation, and executive lines.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. 


Nancy Smith Laidman

Nancy Smith-Laidman rejoined Citibank in 2011 where she began her career. As the leader of the Client Delivery organization in Transaction and Trade Services Nancy was responsible for Service, Implementation and Readiness. In 2014, Nancy took on the newly created role as the Director of Account Management and Implementation. In March of 2017 Nancy returned to her first passion, direct relationships with clients. She is now responsible for a portfolio of strategy Canadian Head Office clients that leverage Citi’s global network to deliver their global mandate.

Always looking for opportunities to leverage the lessons learned throughout her career, this strategic and successful Sales Leader has held senior leadership positions at Bank of Montreal, CIBC and Symcor. With a passion for client engagement and leading change, her career focus has been leading teams that have a revenue generating and client satisfaction focus. A longtime supporter of continuous improvement both at the work place and for herself, Nancy holds a degree from McMaster University as well as an MBA from Dalhousie.
